Research project on IT platform for Service Based Business Models

Signifikant has, in cooperation with KTH Royal Institute of Technology, achieved partial government funding from Vinnova in bringing a prototype aimed at supporting OEMs in their transformation to service based business models.

Signifikant is a Swedish IT company niched at aftermarket and spare part solutions and know-how. Signifikant offer world class, easy to use, solutions for aftermarket information and spare parts. With this research project Signifikant will cooperate with the Royal Institute of Technology to bring forward the next generation aftermarket IT-support. The aim is to support OEMs transforming into a service based business model through creating a “google analytics” for manufacturing products.

The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm is the largest and oldest technical university in Sweden. The Department of Industrial Production will provide research capability in forming the core of the solution.

The project will start fall 2014 and span over 1.5 years.
